Tottenham has made contact with former Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann as they look to fill the void left by Antonio Conte. Nagelsmann, who was fired by Bayern Munich, is deliberating about his next move, with reports tying him to Real Madrid as well. According to Florian Plettenberg, Julian Nagelsmann is unlikely to replace Antonio Conte quickly at Tottenham. Conte has written a farewell message to Tottenham fans after leaving the Premier League club.
“Football is about passion. I’d want to thank everyone at SPURS who respected and shared my passion for football and my rigorous style of living it as a coach,” former Tottenham boss Antonio Conte posted on Instagram. “A special thanks to the fans who have always shown me their support and gratitude; hearing them sing my name has been unforgettable. Our voyage together has come to a conclusion, and I wish you all the best in the future. Antonio.”
Conte is currently in Turin with his family and hopes to find his next position in Italy. Unfortunately, there are few clubs in Serie A willing to satisfy his salary expectations, nor are their many clubs willing to invest in the team in the way he would like.
“After the game against Southampton, I stated that Antonio Conte’s job had become untenable. Not too much among the players because much of what he said had already been said to them. I believe it was more when he talked about the club’s culture and the last 15 years. He can’t be talking about the players because they haven’t been there long – you can’t really blame them,” Jamie Redknapp said. “Nevertheless, after saying what he said, I believe his situation with the owners became untenable. With 10 games remaining, they would have been scrambling, but they chose to stick with what they already had rather than bring in someone like Mauricio Pochettino. That means Daniel Levy does not believe he is the proper man for the club going forward.”
