According to sources in Spain, Eden Hazard needs to abandon Real Madrid this summer and return to Chelsea.
In the summer of 2019, the Belgium international joined Real Madrid for £130 million. Hazard has failed to find form since returning to Spain and has only made 10 appearances in La Liga and three more in the Champions League this season due to several injuries.
The 30-year-old was also forced to apologize to Madrid fans after smiling and teasing Kurt Zouma just moments after his team’s Champions League exit to Chelsea earlier this month.
Hazard is already looking to abandon Real Madrid this summer, according to Spanish television show El Chiringuito de Jugones, and his choice is to return to Chelsea.
Hazard spent seven seasons at Chelsea, helping the club win the Premier League twice. He also helped the FA Cup once, and the Europa League twice.
According to news in Spain earlier this month, Madrid is willing to sell Hazard at the end of the season. The selling is happening after his unsuccessful stay at the club.
Madrid, who have already signed Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe to bolster their offensive, are said to be considering deals in the range of €50 million (£43.4 million) for Hazard.
Madrid is also considering selling Luka Jovic, Gareth Bale, Dani Ceballos, Mariano, and Brahim Diaz to improve their financial situation.
Zinedine Zidane said earlier this month that he wants Hazard to succeed at Real Madrid.
“All the players have their hearts in the club. We haven’t seen the Eden Hazard we want to see yet. I think he can make it. With all that’s happened, it’s a tough time for him. He has a deal and needs to excel here,’ Zidane said.
