Chelsea is set to hold talks with former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino as their search for a manager continues. At this point in the selection process, the former coach of Tottenham and Paris Saint-Germain is one of five contenders. When Thomas Tuchel departed the team in September, Chelsea, who had previously been supporters of Pochettino, inquired about his availability. In the summer, Pochettino will weigh his alternatives as he gets ready for the ideal chance. The 51-year-old is currently unemployed after parting ways with PSG in July 2022. Real Madrid had previously approached him twice, and he has also declined the number of bids from clubs in various European leagues in recent months.
“According to [Chelsea co-owner Todd] Boehly, Chelsea has completed their spending for the following three years, with the exception of signing a center forward,” Gary Neville said as Chelsea hold talks with Mauricio Pochettino. “They’ll need an additional £300 million if they hire Zinedine Zidane, Luis Enrique, or Diego Simeone since they won’t like some of the players they’ve already signed. They must select a manager who will inherit and appreciate the youthful, inexperienced roster they currently have, and I believe Mauricio Pochettino fits the bill.”
Chelsea and Tottenham, two London rivals, are looking for a new long-term manager, and an extensive study by a data analysis team suggests that they should give Pochettino top priority. Since Graham Potter and Antonio Conte were just fired, Frank Lampard will serve as Chelsea’s manager through the end of the current campaign, with Cristian Stellini serving in the same capacity at Spurs. Both teams have been associated with a variety of other managers, but this team’s analysis of the data shows that Pochettino is the best choice.
Julian Nagelsmann, a former manager of Hoffenheim, RB Leipzig, and Bayern Munich, first met with Chelsea representatives last week as the team continued to look for a new manager. Although it is believed that the discussions with Nagelsmann were fruitful, Chelsea will take its time before selecting a permanent replacement for Potter, and no decision is anticipated to be made soon.
