Wolves have confirmed the signing of Pablo Sarabia from PSG for £4.4m and he will sign a two-and-a-half-year contract with the club. After agreeing to personal terms and passing a medical exam on Tuesday, the Spain international signed a 2.5-year contract with Molineux. Before their FA Cup third-round match against Liverpool, which Sarabia was watching from the stands, Wolves made the announcement. On Sunday in the Premier League, he might make his debut against Manchester City on the road. The 30-year-old played for Spain at the Qatar 2022 World Cup and captained his nation’s U19 team under Wolves manager Julen Lopetegui. Before Sarabia went to join PSG in July 2019, they spent a month together when they were both playing for Sevilla.
He helped them win two Ligue 1 championships while in Paris with 89 appearances, and he spent the previous season on loan at Sporting Lisbon. Following the loan signings of Matheus Cunha from Atletico Madrid and Mario Lemina from Nice, Sarabia is Wolves’ third new acquisition of the January transfer window.
“Prior to receiving official confirmation of his arrival, Pablo Sarabia was present at Molineux on Tuesday. He is the most recent hire made by Julen Lopetegui as he seeks to implement the changes necessary to keep the Wolves in the Premier League. They are currently in 16th place, two points adrift of safety,” Adam Bate said after Pablo Sarabia completed his move to Wolves from PSG. “Goals are what Wolves have been lacking this season, and the seasoned wide forward has a good scoring record. The need for a striker has received most of the attention, but Daniel Podence’s recent improvement in front of goal underscores the reality that contributions from other players could change the club’s fortunes. Sarabia might be crucial.”
