Antonio Conte’s pre-match press conference for Inter’s match against Roma has been canceled. This follows reports that Inter has asked its players and employees to forego pay. Since winning the Scudetto, Conte has not held a pre-match press conference. Even though the press conference was revealed this morning and was originally set for 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 11th, the Nerazzurri coach would not appear in front of the media.
The decision comes after a meeting this afternoon in Appiano Gentile, in which president Steven Zhang explained the club’s financial issues to the squad as a whole, rather than on an individual basis, in light of the global football crisis, and asked the players to forego two months’ pay, an appeal for which the club is still waiting for an answer.
Since Inter’s Serie A title two weeks ago, Conte is yet to hold a pre-match press conference. He delegated the press conference before the Sampdoria match last week to his team, and he would not speak to the media before the Roma match tomorrow.
Conte was not present at today’s meeting with the players and Zhang, according to Italian sources. And it is uncertain if he would be asked to take a pay cut as well.

Why Antonio Conte’s Pre-Match Conference Was Canceled?
Conte’s press conference has been canceled, according to FcInternews.it, to avoid circulating rumors about off-the-field issues. And the Inter coach will now give an interview to Inter Tv.
In the coming weeks, Conte will meet with Zhang to discuss his future at the bar. His contract ends in June 2022. But it’s unclear whether he’ll consider a one-year extension. The extension is only if the club decides to sell some of their star players to balance the books.
