Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is not feeling the pressure after a shock defeat against Everton in the Premier League. At the hour mark, James Tarkowski’s header gave Dyche a lead at Goodison Park and handed the Gunners just their second league loss of the year. Bukayo Saka’s goal-bound attempt was cleared off the line by Conor Coady, giving Arsenal their finest opportunity of the second half as they battled to pose a danger to Jordan Pickford’s goal. When Tottenham played Manchester City on Sunday, Arsenal had a five-point lead at the top of the table, but Arteta believes his team is still at ease.
“No, I don’t think so, we’ve played a lot of games this season like that before. But credit to them, this is what they train every single day. To gain control and obtain the opportunity to play, you must defend very well. We did it at times, but not consistently or effectively enough to win the game,” Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta said. “Especially when we made the adjustments, we started to give away a lot of free kicks and make a lot of snap judgments in the last 10 or 15 minutes. They want you to slow down the game, take your time doing each task, play into your line, and not play frequently. That hasn’t been sufficiently handled by us.”
“The team deserves to know how much I cherish them. Compared to three hours, a week, a month, or three months ago, I love them a lot more now,” he added. “Being close to the players when they are winning and performing is really simple. These are the times when my affection for my team members and my staff is at its highest, and we will stick together. There will be significant stones in the middle of this long and challenging road, which we must get beyond. We must now work extremely hard this week to get ready on Saturday with the appropriate mentality to defeat Brentford.”
