France World Cup predicted lineup vs Argentina (4-3-3)
GK: Hugo Lloris – Lloris will become the first captain to ever raise the illustrious cup twice if France triumphs.
RB: Jules Kounde – The then-teenager had a loan move to the French third tier abandoned due to what Kounde characterized as an “injury crisis” at Bordeaux, opening a space in the first team which he didn’t give up.
CB: Raphael Varane – Varane has five goals in five international games, but he has yet to score in Qatar.
CB: Dayot Upamecano – Upamecano was absent from the semi-final due to sickness, but Deschamps was certain that he ‘will be back.’
LB: Theo Hernandez – Hernandez’s only two international goals were against Belgium in the Nations League final four and Morocco on Wednesday night, both of which were semi-final matches.
CM: Antoine Griezmann – Griezmann, who scored in the 2018 World Cup final, has a chance to make history by scoring in back-to-back World Cup finals, joining Brazilian Vava in that club.
CM: Aurelien Tchouameni – In a small autobiographical film he shared on Twitter prior to the competition.
CM: Adrien Rabiot – Rabiot was confined to his hotel room for the semifinal and, in Deschamps’ words, ‘should be healthier and available’ for Sunday. Youssouf Fofana, who worked with Tchouameni for three years at Monaco, would be his most likely assistant.
RW: Ousmane Dembele – France has used the fewest substitutions per game in Qatar than any other side (just 3.5 on average). However, out of his five starts this winter, Dembele has been pulled off in everyone.
ST: Olivier Giroud – Les Bleus in Qatar has hailed the actor who played the Green Goblin in Spider-Man: New Generation as a hero.
LW: Kylian Mbappe – Should he play on Sunday, Mbappe will be the youngest man to ever play in two World Cup finals at the age of 23.
