Man City right-back Kyle Walker prefers to stay at the club amid interest from Bayern Munich. The 33-year-old City defender is in advanced talks to join Bayern, but it is believed that he wants to stay at the Etihad and sign a contract extension. Walker’s current contract has one year left, and City has no intention of selling him this summer. Walker was benched by City head coach Pep Guardiola for the Champions League final because he preferred Nathan Ake over him in defense. Kyle Walker was unable to participate in the Man City system, according to Guardiola in April, which saw John Stones go from defense to midfield at a time when the England international had lost his starting position.
In the event that Bernardo Silva wants to quit the team, Man City won’t get in his way. But like in the past, the player and his representation must make a transfer request and make a competitive offer to the treble winners. In addition to Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain is reportedly interested in signing the Portugal international. Given his significant role in City’s historic triumphs in the Champions League, Premier League, and FA Cup last season, Silva would ideally stay and sign a new long-term contract. Silva is believed to have thought about leaving City last summer, but nothing came of it.
Barcelona is still interested in City captain Ilkay Gundogan on a free transfer as it looks to add at least one new midfielder this summer. With his contract scheduled to expire at the end of the month, Gundogan is negotiating a new agreement with City. The deal’s term for the 32-year-old, one year with an option for another 12, has been a sticking issue, though. Arsenal and Barca are two teams that are rumored to be interested in signing Gundogan to a lengthier contract.
