Despite not being in contention to sign La Joya, Inter could play a crucial role in deciding Paulo Dybala’s future at Juventus. According to the print edition of Corriere Della Sera, Juventus is scouring the market for prospective buyers. Dybala has yet to renew his deal. The deal expires in 2022. Read more about Icardi Dybala swap deal below.
If the Bianconeri decide to sell La Joya this season, they seem to be ahead of Barcelona, Chelsea, and Tottenham (to avoid losing him for free next year).
Icardi Dybala swap deal
Juventus is said to have approached PSG about a possible swap involving Mauro Icardi and Paulo Dybala. According to La Stampa, Juventus will consult with Wanda Nara. They has already contacted PSG about a possible swap of the two Argentines.
Dybala’s contract expires in June 2022. Juventus must either cash in or extend his contract to prevent the 27-year-old from leaving on a free transfer the next year.
According to La Gazzetta Dello Sport, the goal against Napoli was insufficient to repair the bond between the club and the player. However, PSG’s attempt to sell Mauro Icardi as part of a trade deal would be hampered by a contract signed with Inter last summer. Inter was owed €10-15 million by the Ligue 1 champions if PSG sells Icardi back to Serie A, complicating their talks with Juventus, according to the Milan-based newspaper.
Icardi is said to be interested in joining Juventus. His wife and agent Wanda Nara will discuss the matter in the coming weeks. Dybala is not looking to abandon the Old Lady. He might be enticed by a transfer to PSG if the clubs would work out a way to avoid paying Inter. However, according to an article in La Stampa today, Inter is planning a free swap for Dybala next year.
The article adds to the excitement about a future trade offer by stating that the Bianconeri are considering their options. There have been no communications for the contract extension for months. Tuttosport reports that the parties will meet in May.
According to the Turin-based newspaper, the need for stability and a spot in the Champions League will be decisive in contract talks.
