Man United boss Erik ten Hag believes that the ownership saga won’t change their transfer plans in the summer. The Glazer family’s November announcement that they were “exploring strategic alternatives” and considered selling the club caused a prospective purchase to stall. The two primary parties vying to acquire United after submitting proposals to merchant bank Raine Group are Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s Ineos Group and Qatari tycoon Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani. Minor investment hasn’t been completely ruled out though, and despite the fact that it’s unclear who will be in charge of United before the new season begins, Ten Hag is confident that he will be able to reshape the team during the summer transfer window.
“We must put all of our effort and attention into this season, but we must also make plans for the future and the following one. Additionally, this includes communicating with your scouting team, carrying out your recruitment duties, and naturally, speaking with players,” Man United boss Erik Ten Hag said. “In my opinion. We discussed what might be done with the team and with transfers when I arrived here [at the conclusion of] the previous season. And the club proved they can accomplish it last year. Therefore, I don’t believe anything has changed, and yes, we may continue as before during this summer.”
One of United’s major priorities for the transfer window is to add a top striker and a dynamic midfielder. There is significant concern that a new ownership group would bring with it a different direction and even different staff even while hiring and other club practises are continuing as normal. As things stand, United feels confident that the summer window is well-prepared. The main question is whether ownership will shift and whether everyone will still be in accord with that planning.
The fourth and highest offer for the purchase of Manchester United has been made by Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad Al Thani. The Raine Group, the New York-based investment firm supervising the sale of the club, received Sheikh Jassim’s revised bid, which is estimated to be around £5 billion but falls short of the Glazer family’s £6 billion value.
Sheikh Jassim has reacted to suggestions that a new offer from Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS had put them in the lead to purchase United after the third and final round of bidding closed on April 28. With the elimination of nearly £1 billion in debt and the establishment of a separate fund for the renovation of Old Trafford, the surrounding area, and the team’s Carrington training facility, Sheikh Jassim believes his offer is highly competitive and will be immensely beneficial for Manchester United. Even if Sheikh Jassim’s bid was for the entire team, INEOS would let the Glazers keep a 20% ownership stake since it places a greater value on United.
Intermediaries have contacted Manchester United over the summer transfer of Neymar from Paris Saint-Germain. They are one of the teams who have been contacted regarding Neymar’s prospective availability. He is not a target for United right now, despite the fact that a transfer may make sense from a business standpoint. In any event, it is unclear how United would be able to pay for his salary, sign him, and expect him to adjust to playing in the Premier League.
Arne Slot has stated that he will remain at Feyenoord despite Tottenham’s interest. After Slot led Feyenoord to the Eredivisie championship this season, Spurs were desperate to sign him. Tottenham has consistently emphasised that they didn’t speak with Slot or Feyenoord directly and that they never openly criticise the personnel of other football organisations. It is likely that Slot will now sign a new contract with Feyenoord despite the fact that Spurs’ management believes Slot leveraged their interest in him to obtain a higher contract in the Netherlands.
“There have been many whispers about other teams being interested in me, which I have heard. Despite being grateful, my wish is to remain at Feyenoord and continue the job we started last year,” Slot said. “There hasn’t been any talk of a move, and yesterday’s discussion [with Feyenoord] was just about getting an extension. Every conversation with the club has always been limited to that. awaiting the next campaign with Feyenoord.”
