Hyderabad FC have completed the signing of Spanish midfielder Borja Herrera for the upcoming Hero Indian Super League season. Herrera has signed a one-year contract with the club. Herrera was born and brought up in Las Palmas and started his career in Canary Islands. The midfielder was a part of the squad that was led by Manolo Marquez.
“This is a very good opportunity for me. Hyderabad FC is a great project with great fans and are currently the Champions. I cannot wait to take on this new challenge,” Hyderabad FC new signing Borja Herrera said.
“Borja is a complete and technically gifted player. From centre-back to centre-midfield, from a box-to-box role to playing as a winger, he is an effective option in the squad,” head coach Manolo Marquez said. “He was with me during my time with Las Palmas B and he also played in the La Liga with the first team. He has loads of experience in the Spanish second division and in other countries as well and is a good fit for our squad.”
Meanwhile, Jamshedpur FC have completed the signing of Brazilian midfielder Wellington Priori. The tall midfielder was part of the team in the inaugural Hero Indian Super League season.
“I am coming back home where I belong. The time I spent with the club was amazing, and I am thrilled to be playing again at the furnace before the loyal and passionate Jamshedpur fans,” Wellington Priori said. “Working with Aidy Boothroyd, who has abundant experience, will definitely help us succeed as a team. I will work hard with my teammates to win more silverware for Jamshedpur.”
“Wellington has all the attributes which you look for in a midfielder – he is technical, good with the ball, gets goals, and has experience of playing in the ISL. He is coming home, having played for the club earlier and will help him to hit the ground running,” head coach Aidy Boothroyd said.
