Manchester United legend Paul Scholes named the two Premier League managers he feels that the club should go for next season. The Red Devils were knocked out of the Champions League by Atletico Madrid at Old Trafford while they have fallen behind Arsenal and Tottenham in the race for fourth place. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was sacked in November with Ralf Ragnick taking over as the caretaker manager until the end of the season. This will be the longest time that the club has been without a trophy while their rivals Manchester City and Liverpool have been racking up the silverware.
“I would go for Conte or Tuchel now possibly. He might be available at the end of the year,” Premier League legend Paul Scholes said. “They are two are top-class coaches, who I think to strike fear into players, and win, that’s the most important thing. Either one of them will make this squad a lot better. OK, they need additions, but people are saying they need four or five by spending £200m or whatever it is. There is a group of players there that are good enough and could be made a lot better by a top-quality elite coach.”
“I think Man Utd are a top-class coach away from getting back to anything near where they should be,” he added. “You look at the group of players, it’s not that bad, there are some good players. Talented players, but for the last two years, maybe even longer they’ve not had an elite coach. To be an elite coach of a big football club, you need to have special qualities, and you need to be able to get a team to be able to play how you want them to play.”
