Bertrand Traore has signed for Istanbul Basaksehir FK on a one-year loan from Aston Villa.
İBFK announced: “Our club has recently signed a one-year loan agreement with Bertrand Traore, who plays in Aston Villa Club, one of the Premier League teams.
“Our President Göksel Gümüşdağ attended the signing ceremony of the successful player.
“We welcome Bertrand Traore to our family and wish him success with our orange-dark blue jersey.”
The Villans confirmed the transaction stating: “Aston Villa can confirm Bertrand Traoré has joined Istanbul Basaksehir FK on loan until the end of the season.
“The forward signed for Villa in September 2020 and would go on to score eight goals in all competitions in his maiden campaign.
“Last term, injuries limited his appearances in claret and blue although he did represent Burkina Faso at the Africa Cup of Nations.

RMC Sport had reported: “The Süper Lig side had stepped up talks in the last few days. In order to get the 26-year-old’s approval on the move, amid interest from local rivals Galatasaray and Beşiktaş as well. In Turkey, Traoré will notably play in Europe, with the club having qualified for the Conference League.
“The former Ajax and Chelsea loanee in 2016/17 signed for Villa in 2020 from Lyon. Where he made 126 appearances and scored 33 goals, providing 16 assists in total in France. After joining the Premier League side, the Burkina Faso international played 18 games for the English side. Scoring eight goals in his first season at the club, while providing seven assists.”
