Papiss Cisse has revealed that he is ready to play football in the Premier League again, five years after leaving Newcastle United in Premier League. He made 131 appearances for the Magpies in all competitions, scoring 44 goals in all competitions. The forward had joined Newcastle United from SC Freiburg in the Bundesliga. During his time at the club, he formed a partnership with Demba Ba, helping Newcastle to Europa League qualification after a fifth-place finish in the Premier League.
After leaving Newcastle, the Senegalese striker moved to the Chinese Super League. he spent two years with Shandong Taishan before moving to Alanyaspor in the Turkish league. His performances earned him a move to Fenerbahce where his contract ran out at the end of last season. Cisse revealed he wanted to challenge himself in the premier league despite turning 36 this year.
“I feel good, I feel great and I’m ready to play football again in England.” former Newcastle United striker Papiss Cisse said. “I want to come back to stay with my family and it was a long time out and the kids, they are growing up. I want a challenge in the Premier League again. Everything happens in my mind and in my body how I work hard and I know it is a tough league. For me, that is no problem and I’ve got to be ready for it.”
“I was fed up last year, I still have one year left but I don’t want to go back there. I am free and I want to come back to the Premier League to challenge again,” he added. “For my ambition, I want to come back to England and be close with my family as well.”
