Arsenal has completed the signing of Leandro Trossard from Brighton for £27m. The original upfront payment from the Gunners is £20 million, with a further £7 million in add-ons. In order for Trossard to be able to play against Manchester United on Super Sunday, Arsenal and Mikel Arteta think they submitted the registration paperwork in time. The 28-year-old has committed to a four-and-a-half-year contract with an additional year’s option.
“We are overjoyed to have him here. We have been following him as a player for some time. The chance presented itself, and we now need a player on the front line who is adaptable enough to play in a variety of positions. He is familiar with the league, has previous experience here, and can immediately make a difference for the team,” Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta said about Leandro Trossard. “In addition to thinking in the short, medium, and long terms, we must. He provides all of that. His history and recent accomplishments show that he is unquestionably a player who fits our style of play.”
“They expressed their admiration for me as a player and claimed that I would play well with their system and playing style. My versatility and ability to play in a variety of positions benefit me. Both of us are eager to collaborate with one another. They have my fullest enthusiasm, and I believe Mikel [Arteta] is a superb coach,” Trossard said. “I prefer to be in the striker’s pocket. I can also explore myself when I’m on the wings. I feel at ease in both of those positions, but if I had to pick one, it would be behind the striker. I’ve had my best Premier League season to date throughout this one. We did a fantastic job in Brighton, and I’ve been doing well academically.”
