Spain has endured more than 27,000 coronavirus deaths and as the season continues, the LaLiga teams will pay their regards.
Spain’s football will recall casualties of the coronavirus pandemic in the 2019-20 season with brief’s quiet before each match that remains.
The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) and LaLiga announced on Sunday that teams would pause from LaLiga down to the amateur level for a snapshot of reflection before games.
Football is set to continue in Spain in the coming week following a three-month interference, with LaLiga back on Thursday with the home derby against Real Betis in Seville.
The Barcelona leaders continue at Real Mallorca on Saturday, while the second-placed Real Madrid faces Eibar at Santiago Bernabeu on Sunday.
The main serious game of the resumption will be a second-level battle between Rayo Vallecano and Albacete on Wednesday when the teams challenge the second 45 minutes of a game that was forgotten about in December.
A joint RFEF and LaLiga statement read: “The RFEF and LaLiga have announced that a moment of quiet will be held before all matches in memory of the individuals who passed on of COVID-19 in all professional and non-professional rivalries upon the arrival of football.”
The two organizations have agreed during this season to pay an earnest tribute to all the individuals who left us because of the pandemic, as well as their families.
“That is the reason from this very Wednesday, in the resumption of Rayo Vallecano-Albacete as in the remainder of the matches between LaLiga Santander and LaLiga SmartBank [Segunda Division], as well as in the promotional play-offs for LaLiga Santander and Segunda B, the football world will respect the deceased with 60 seconds of grieving before the start of the matches.”
Spain has sustained in excess of 27,000 deaths from coronavirus since the start of March.
