Anthony Martial is taking advantage of “now being the right time for Manchester United to play as a center forwards,” says Michael Owen, with the Red Devils still needing a “main No.9”.
The former Red Devils striker said to Premier League Productions: “We ‘re evaluating a squad that’s under the par for a long time now they’ve suddenly got a lot of good players out there. And now I think he’ll get more support from Martial because now is the perfect time for Manchester United to play as a center-forward – with Paul Pogba’s and Bruno Fernandes’ likes and all the other stars in and around you.”
“Is he one who will be No.9 for years to come? At the moment he ‘s looking incoherent. He’s going to score a hat-trick but is he going to consistently score a lot of goals? A quality of skepticism remains. There’s a question about what his best strategy is, too. I guess it’s theoretically off the left so that’s probably Marcus Rashford ‘s safest spot again. We are shuffling the pack a little at the moment, but if you ask most people, they’ll say: ‘Where does Manchester United need to strengthen? They need the No.9 ‘main.”
