Cagliari midfielder Radja Nainggolan said “I have let pride get the simplest of me”. He feels that he might still have his stay with Inter and regrets leaving Roma.
The Belgian left Roma after a clash with the then Director of Sports Monchi, but only lasted one season in San Siro before he was frozen.
In his Instagram Live chat with Fabio Fognini tennis champion, Nainggolan said that he left his heart in Rome as that was an experience of a lifetime. “Unfortunately, I let pride get the higher of me which made me change clubs.”
He met Luciano Spalletti at Inter, and when Antonio Conte took over, things changed.
“I visited Inter with the coach who really wanted me there. I arrived with such a lot of enthusiasm, then I got injured and had some problems. albeit I can do better I am satisfied seeing the statistics. It wasn’t the finest of Nainggolan at Inter.
“I did still hope to tend another chance, but that didn’t happen. It’s a choice I even have to simply accept. I even have another two years on my contract with Inter, we’ll see what happens, as such a lot has changed at the club.
“I still assume that I can have my say at Inter. I never had any issues in the dressing room, despite what’s reported.”
