
It was confirmed that Lionel Messi intends to leave Barcelona in 2021, but on Thursday Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane hoped the Argentine maestro remains in Spain.
Spanish radio station Cadena Ser reports: Messi’s current contract expires next year, and because of disagreements with the club’s course, he has suspended talks.
Barca is sitting second with five games remaining in La Liga, four points behind Real Madrid, who finished 1-0 past Getafe on Thursday to put the title in their hands.
Speaking about Messi ‘s potential exit, Real coach Zidane said: “I don’t know what’s going to happen but, we don’t expect any bad because he’s in this league and we want the best in this league.”
