Rangers affirmed Ianis Hagi’s marking on a permanent deal after purchasing Genk’s midfielder after his half-year loan deal.
After joining the club in January Hagi scored one goal in seven Premiership appearances for the Gers and was depicted as “a pleasure to coach” by manager Steven Gerrard.
RANGERS may affirm that Ianis Hagi has agreed to join the club on a permanent, long haul contract, with the Light Blues negotiating their purchasing choice.
Full Romanian International, Hagi, 21, played on 12 occasions for Rangers, scoring three goals remembering a memorable brace for the Europa League v Braga to send Rangers to the final 16 as well as a champ against Hibernian.
Hagi, the child of great Gheorghe Hagi from Romania, had moved from Viitorul Constanta to Genk simply last year.
His next game in the league for Rangers won’t come until the season 2020-21, with 2019-20 being announced for the current month and Celtic being affirmed as champions.
Hagi established himself as a senior international with 10 caps, having ascended through Romania’s under-age ranks. Twice nominated for the European Golden Boy, Hagi is regarded as one of European football’s most encouraging youthful talents. Hagi played in the UEFA European Under-21 Championship, scoring for Croatia and England, helping Romania progress to the semi-finals.
In his short loan spell at Ibrox Ianis immediately established himself as a fan favorite. He will join Steven Gerrard’s squad as the team prepares for pre-season training until the move is completely finished when the summer window opens.
