As the starting date for the following Bundesliga season, Germany is peering toward 18 September.
The German Football League, which oversees the top two men’s divisions, said on Wednesday that it had to locate a timetable that would comply with UEFA staging the remainder of the August Champions League and Europa League this season as smaller than normal tournaments.
The season 2020-21 will end in time for the European Championship, which has been moved back one year in the coronavirus pandemic and will start on June 11, 2021.
The league has said it is presently asking for feedback from clubs. One purpose of debate is whether to have a shorter winter break or increasingly mid-week games, whose potential number is constrained by the TV contracts for the team.
Last month, Bayern Munich won his eighth straight Bundesliga title after the German league continued in May during the pandemic and Saturday finished. On 28 August, the league said, the subsequent division could start its 2020-21 season.
Since the restart, each Bundesliga game has been played without fans. Clubs are enthusiastic about at least a few fans coming back to the stadiums in the new season, yet the league has not yet given any news on that.
